About me

I grew up in Perth, Scotland where I had a lot of untamed nature around me.  As an adult, I moved to The Netherlands where I lived for 13 years. In 2019 I moved with my wife and two children to Australia as a permanent reisdent. Currently I live in Port Noarlunga in South Australia.

I first started working in the tree care industry full time in 2011.  From this period on, I have had the chance to experience a wide variety of work that comes with being an arborist.  I also have the necessary certificates which allow me to do a wide range of work in the arboriculture trade.  

Certified with the International Society of Arboriculture as a Certfied Arborist -climber speacialst. Also certified with the European Arboriculture council as a European Tree Worker. In 2015, I completed my Diploma in Arboriculture. also in 2015 I became a qualified Tree Safety Officer. In 2017 I finished the Tree Safety Inspector exam which allows me to perform tree assessments and write reports for city councils. Throughout the years 2013 to 2017, I completed courses studying flora and fauna which allows me to prepare wildlife inventories and write reports on ecological effects on plants and animals. In 2018 I completed the my exams as a Fauna Spotter.

Alongside my work, I participate in a number of community projects that are associated with trees such as planting new trees within local schools and envioromental restoration groups.  I also participate in a National Arborist chapter which meets once a month to achieve improvements in the industry.  2018 and 2019 on the jury for the finals of one of our Dutch arborist climbing competitions.

2019-Present: I am currently a full-time employee at City of Onkaparinga council, Urban forest department. City of Onkaparinga is the largest metropolitan council of South Australia.

2012-2019: Full time arborist at The Hague City Council in The Netherlands.
